Napoli Appoint Calzona as Caretaker Manager

ROME (AP) — Napoli have appointed Francesco Calzona as caretaker manager until the end of the season following the dismissal of Luciano Spalletti.
Spalletti was sacked on Tuesday after Napoli's 3-0 defeat to Cremonese in the Coppa Italia semi-finals, a result that followed a poor run of form in Serie A.
Calzona, who has been working as an assistant coach at Napoli since 2021, will take charge of the team for the remainder of the campaign.
The 53-year-old Italian has previously had spells as an assistant at Perugia, Empoli and Palermo.
