According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the accident took place around 5:10 AM on East Lake Road south of Keystone Road. The motorcyclist was identified as a 22-year-old New Port Richey resident who was operating a 2018 Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on East Lake Road when he lost control of the motorcycle and struck a barrier wall on the side of the road. The impact of the crash caused the motorcyclist to be ejected from the motorcycle, resulting in fatal injuries.
